A jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is already available for those who want to test the waters, Musclenerd has announced. As usual, the hacker directs his Twitter followers to the iPhone Dev Team blog where everyone can review the caveats.
Speaking on behalf of the team he represents, Musclenerd says “we realize that some of you non-A5 jailbreakers are itching to get to 5.1, even though there seems to be no compelling new feature there.”

Sources talking to VentureBeat said “Apple’s next-generation iPad will be called the iPad HD, not the iPad 3.” This person is actually described as a “reliable” source that has proven track record. Moreover, the same person allegedly told the site that Apple is sourcing “7.1-inch screen components in preparation for a smaller iPad release later this year.”
CNet corroborates the first half of the story, saying that they’ve also heard that “the next iPad uses the HD moniker instead of […] ‘iPad 3’”. This information reportedly came from “a developer who’s previously provided reliable information with respect to things Apple.”

The same Peter Misek who earlier wrote to investors about the rumored iTV also says there will be at least one exciting new feature in Apple’s next iPhone and iPad – the display.
The analyst, working with Jeffries, reportedly learned of a partnership between Sharp and Apple that resulted in modified IGZO — or indium, gallium, zinc — technology to reach 330 dots-per-inch screen resolution. The current Retina display in Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S does 326 dpi/ppi (also designated ‘pixels-per-inch’).

Two actors who made names for themselves playing ‘doctor’ in a popular TV series called ER, George Clooney and Noah Wyle are battling it out to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic by Sony Pictures.
I reported a while back that Sony was interested in seeing a script from Aaron Sorkin, the guy who made the screenplay for “The Social Network”.
Whether or not Sorkin will be writing the film adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography of the Apple co-founder, it is now being reported that two actors from ER are being courted to play the role of Steve Jobs – George Clooney and Noah Wyle.
